“THE GOLDEN RULE FOR MUSICIANS” Dedicated to scumsuckers
As a musician myself, I am frustrated by the business side of music.
THIS GOES OUT TO ALL OF THE MUSICIANS TRYING TO MAKE A FUCKING LIVING!!!!!!
I am learning that it is this simple. Here is the bottom line.
Whenever you are approached by a business (agent, manager, lawyer, label, promoter, online website) or whatever the fucking name tag says for the person or company claiming to “pump up” your career. Tell them this:
I will pay you three months out of my pocket (X amount) to gather your team and to create a game plan. Then if (in 6 months) I have not made my money back with touring, merch sales, and internet purchases. Your all fired. Simple as that. (Musicians, if you can not afford this upfront payment, you’re on your own…)

Otherwise, consider yourself the very leeches making false promises, and sucking the last bit of life from the dreams of wide-sparkly eyed young musicians across the globe. Thank you for leaving this business to die a slow, despicable death.

It should be noted by anyone jumping into this game to DO YOUR HOMEWORK before working with a person or company. Use Google to do some research and find out who or what they are all about. Can’t find them in Google? That’s a red flag in itself - anyone who’s going to understand the music industry needs to understand the ‘Net first.
